Jamire Calvin reminds me of that situation you face when you are taking a test: you know that you've already chosen the right answer (at least you think it's the right answer), but then you second guess yourself. You change your answer, and then you change it again. And then you get the answer wrong, only to find out that you had the answer right the first time. Jamire, regardless of your final answer, I hope you have a wonderful college football experience.

@HuskerfromIllinois: I'm OK with it, since there are always a bunch of guys already stacked up by December. I just don't see a lot of recruits waiting past that point. That will become THE Day. Bigger to me is the appearance that they are going to move up official visits. It was ludicrous to me that kids couldn't take officials in the spring or early summer months. That should be useful to Nebraska as well.

Btw BC...I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade. Always been one to say "enjoy what you enjoy". Just blown away by the excitement level of it all. Means I wish I'd developed HUDL and be currently blogging with you from the Caribbean. Kudos to those guys. They are expanding overseas as we speak.

@Blaze: Yeah, you always have to factor that in. I get why the quantity matters, because the more bodies you have, the more opportunities to hit big. But you sometimes have to take a deeper look at the quality. Pelini's first year, he loaded up with a class of 28 and everyone got all excited. Well, the truth is, looking back on it, he reached on way too many late. Should have kept it smaller.

Joseph Lewis has his list of options down to Nebraska, Oregon, and USC. Let's think for a second about the Oregon and USC options. First, Oregon is unstable. It's just changed coaches. It has fallen from its peak. Where will it go from here? Who knows, but I'm sure that Coach Taggert is promising Lewis that he'll be the reason they change course and become nationally relevant again. Contrast that to Nebraska's situation. Nebraska is like a sophomore in high school football that is getting ready for a breakout year as a junior. All the signs are there. And it takes a guy like Lewis to make that possible. But if Lewis were to choose Oregon, he would be the next Darren Carrington Jr. Yes, Darren makes great catches and he went to Oregon because he thought they were going to become National Champions. And, yes, Darren will end up in the NFL, as likely will Lewis (if projections hold up). But that's the best that Lewis will be at Oregon: another Darren Carrington Jr. Then there is USC. This one's easy: when USC's greatest receiver ever sends his son to Nebraska, then that says a lot. Ultimately, the decision will come down to whether Lewis has the guts to go to Nebraska. In light of the fact that he has the guts to catch a pass across the middle of the field, I'm saying that he does.

Agree about size, I was just mentioning why they were ranked so high. Also, I want to ask about Guy Thomas. Outside of Lindsay and Blades, I believe he is the most important recruit to land due to his versatility and size - especially when considering our move to a 3-4. Really could see him being a high quality OLB or DE.

@Blaze: Yeah, I don't think it should just be pushed to the side, which some will, if he chooses another. That's a NSD blow that must be recognized. I'm sure Parrella's final push to him included what you are saying right there. Basically, you fit now more than ever in what we're doing. Come be a part of it. We'll see. I think other people have been in his ear, too.
