LA recruiting is about connections, history, that has paid off
by lredeugene2/1/2017 7:16:53 PM
KJJ was the kickoff, he said
by lredeugene2/1/2017 7:17:11 PM
Talking about LA. Result of connections within staff, history pays off, important to get it started with KJJ. Pleasure to coach KJS.
by Counselor Jamm2/1/2017 7:17:14 PM
It was a short visit. It has ended
by lredeugene2/1/2017 7:17:38 PM
They may fire it back up. I have no idea. Suppose I could ask our "inside source" Brian Rosenthal
by Clint Robus2/1/2017 7:18:47 PM
But gents, play nice. I need to go get a sandwich and will be back shortly.
by Clint Robus2/1/2017 7:19:03 PM
I think if I ever had trouble sleeping, I would try listening to Mike Riley talk.
by Counselor Jamm2/1/2017 7:19:45 PM
While Calvin's a great talent, where is the point where someone waffles so much you aren't sure you want that drama on the team?
by Ron Walter2/1/2017 7:20:29 PM
So Mr Flip Flop is next?
by PT HUSKER2/1/2017 7:22:42 PM
I'm sure Riley & Williams will make that call & it might have come & gone.
by Jesse Spencer2/1/2017 7:23:26 PM
Not a big fan of the little receivers, no matter how many stars are next to their names.
by Jack2/1/2017 7:25:38 PM
I wonder if there is a plan B or C, if we dont hit 22 recruits, for a guy or two, late in the game?.. (probably not)
by TO2/1/2017 7:25:59 PM
Tell that to Steve Smith, Wes Welker, Darren Sproles in some of his roles, Brandin Cooks, Tavon Austin if they used him right.
by Counselor Jamm2/1/2017 7:27:34 PM
Not likely that anybody is waiting in the wings
by PT HUSKER2/1/2017 7:27:48 PM
TY Hilton, Julian Edelman, Willie Snead, Tyler Lockett
by Counselor Jamm2/1/2017 7:28:31 PM
Yeah... little receivers (Kenny bell, Jordan westerkamp, DPE) haven't done anything for NE over the years.
by blaze2/1/2017 7:28:50 PM
Johnnie Rogers
by TO2/1/2017 7:29:03 PM
Should we kick Spielman off the team? #Littlereceiversarereceiverstoo
by Counselor Jamm2/1/2017 7:29:21 PM
Westy is 6 foot, 5'9 in s far cry from that in the B1G
by Kendall Meade2/1/2017 7:29:50 PM
I agree, a bigger body like Lewis would be nice, but you have to like 6-8 Austin Allen and Kurt Rafdal as potential go to goal line receivers
by blaze2/1/2017 7:30:22 PM
Yeah Westy and Bell were a stretch.
by Counselor Jamm2/1/2017 7:31:09 PM
Tyjon Linsdat
by PT HUSKER2/1/2017 7:31:23 PM
KB is 6'1
by Kendall Meade2/1/2017 7:31:49 PM
But Lindsay is better.
by PT HUSKER2/1/2017 7:32:28 PM
I am excited about JD Spielman. slot receiver, return man, running back, he can be a very versatile player
by Husker from Illinois2/1/2017 7:32:39 PM
I would bet a guy like Rafdal will be split out a lot, in the pro O.
by TO2/1/2017 7:32:40 PM
Tall receivers are nice, but I'll take a team full of JR's who can catch the ball and make people miss in open space.
by CD2/1/2017 7:33:18 PM
I understand we need some little guys just dont want a lollipop guild for a receiving corp. Didn't know it was a hot button topic.
by Jack2/1/2017 7:35:40 PM
Lol. I deserve that they are not 5'9". But, my point is Nebraska has utilized smaller, quicker receivers in the past with a lot of success and besides enunwa has not had a large downfield, big body threat in a while. All I'm saying is... put athletes on the field and they will Make plays. In the red zone we will have big enough guys (TEs)
by blaze2/1/2017 7:36:00 PM
But give me Lewis' size and athleticism. I'll take that all day.
by blaze2/1/2017 7:36:20 PM
Ok, we have 3 QB's in house, not one minute of playing time but good hype, building an offensive line to protect them so they can get the ball to our receivers, don't care how tall they are, to make first downs, YAC, compliment our running game and if they can make people miss, icing on the cake!
by CD2/1/2017 7:36:51 PM
I agree with Blaze!
by CD2/1/2017 7:37:56 PM
6'2 5'9 6'5 6'1 6'1 5'9
Heights of the 6 WR's that will start the season getting snaps
by Counselor Jamm2/1/2017 7:38:51 PM
Riley did pretty well with Brandin Cooks 5'10 185lbs
by Jesse Spencer2/1/2017 7:39:19 PM
I think a guy like Rafdal will be split out, area of the slot back, to get on a shorter LBer, for quick slants and hitches, like in the Pro offense.
by TO2/1/2017 7:39:42 PM
and the Rodgers' brothers
by Counselor Jamm2/1/2017 7:40:12 PM
What are all of your thoughts on the QB situation?
by blaze2/1/2017 7:42:00 PM
I hope we don't miss the mobility factor
by PT HUSKER2/1/2017 7:43:02 PM
No doubt a trade-off that will happen between mobility and arm ability...
by blaze2/1/2017 7:43:43 PM
Tanner Lee to start the season, depending on how much of a beating he can take while the O-Line develops chemistry, we might see KOB/TG in the second half of the season
by Counselor Jamm2/1/2017 7:44:11 PM
Wow, this off the hook. Is this a National Holiday? I'm thinking NSD, parties. I'm thinking the Bloody Mary intake goes off the hook in Lincoln today.
by Nish5002/1/2017 7:44:29 PM
All I want is a Rodgers like ability to extend the play every once in a while when needed
