@JamesWilson People with a lot more time on there hands than I (or rather, it's part of their job), point out that ranking up front matters, but production from the class is huge. We've had a run of less than productive classes which puts major holes in a program. Kids who struggle with the decision, flipping a lot, often struggle as freshman simply due to normal life challenges...which often leads to a transfer. Every staff wants "the right kids" who commit and stick...knowing that some will get hurt and not contribute...but kids who walk or wash out really put a strain on a program. -

@jw: I look at guys who enroll early first and give them an advantage. I think any wide receiver, when you analyze the depth there, should be considered guys who can contribute right away. I'd say linebacker Avery Roberts, too. I think fullback Ben Miles is a guy they'll take a long look at right off the bat. If they get a talent like Blades, you definitely consider him. O-line and D-line are always tough spots to get on the field as true freshman, so I usually don't mention them here, even though NU clearly needs some of those guys to develop quickly. -
@James Hey I don't disagree with you, but a major positive shift I think is that we are watching all these big names to see where they go because we are finally in the convo... This IMO can and will be a growing trend, and eventually we will start landing these guys, especially if we can keep our coaches together....
